Fishing the OBX Sounds, Boats, Kayaks and Wading
One Day Light Tackle and Fly Rod Fishing the Croatan, Roanoke, Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds- Captain Bryan DeHart and Captain Dave Rhode, reknowned  Sound Guides, teach light tackle and fly rod techniques, key hot spots,  islands, marshes, stumps, shallows and sloughs of these abundant sounds.Eric Burnley,  presents on using Kayaks to to get to where boats cant go.Learn wading and small boat backwater methods and locations for Rockfish, Speckled Trout, flounder and Redfish (Drum). Seminar covers spinning, baitcasting and fly rods, reels lines, tippits, leaders, flies, as well as all about some of the best year-round locations on the Outer Banks. Captain Bryan has been seen on ESPN as well as Carolina Outdoors TV. Captain Dave has been a fly rod guide in Chile for years and now operates RIOMAR Charters in Nags Head, NC. Eric Burnley is a staff writer for Saltwater Magazine and the Mid-Atlantic Fisherman. These presenters are experts who have a great deal to share to improve your fishing success on the OBX sounds. SPRING OBXDRUMFISHING 4x4 Weekend
You've seen the videos and the pictures, now you can learn to long cast in the surf for huge Red Drum and be taught by local experts. Jimmy Hillsman,  well known and respected Drum angler and professional charter mate, and Mike Langston, National Champion long distance caster will teach you all you need to know. Saturday morning is spent in the classroom covering tying rigs, bait, reading the beach, Drum migration, teaching the how, when and where of Fall Drum fishing. State-of-the-art rod and reel technology will be displayed and discussed. Saturday afternoon will be spent on the  beach being taught "Hatteras Heaver" long casting techniques. Sunday the group 4x4s on the Hatteras beaches to put it all together to Drum fish in the surf. You will need to bring a cooler with food and drink as well as a 4x4 vehicle. Rods/reels and bait will be available for purchase.Discounted lodging is available. $195 up to two weeks before program, then $225.

OBX Nearshore Cobia, Amberjack and Kings 
Capt. Lee Johnson of "Gouger" Charters,  teaches small boat owners the methods to fill their fish boxes with species available within just a few miles from the beach. He covers sight casting and chumming for monster cobia,live baiting and jiggin for Amberjack and live baiting and trolling for King Mackeral. Capt. Johnson will also cover trolling for Bluefish, and Spanish Mackeral ,  Captain Mark Peters will present on understanding modern fishing lines. Line technology and products for different applications will be covered. Nathan Pruitt, TW's Rod builder and rigging pro will conduct two sessions. The first will be a knot tying workshop to learn a few "must know"i knots and the second will be a session on the much talked about Shimano Butterfly jig and the techniques for using them.  Discussion includes rigs, rods/reels/ line, hardware, wire, rigging, live baits, planers, spoons, lures, butterfly and other jigging techniques. Also covered are structure such as the NC Artificial reefs, The Navy Towers, "Graveyard of the Atlantic" shipwreck gps locations and depth sounder techniques.
$125 up to 2 weeks from Seminar then $150.

June/July/August 2008- Monday&Tuesday Evenings 7:00pm-8:30pm
Summer Surf Fishing Quick Start
 
1 1/2 hour group evening class Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm. Class covers, seasonal species, bottom rigs, reading the surf, finding good fishing spots, casting, types of bait, baiting the hook, spikes, gear and fileting and cooking your catch. Taught by Al Minter, well known local OBX surf angler. Meet at Tw's Nags Head. Special priced rod/reel combos and bait will be available for purchase.Class price is $25/person, Kids 10-12 $15.
Summer Pier Fishing Quick Start
 
1 1/2 hour group evening class  Tuesday afternoons from 3pm-4:30pm. Class covers, seasonal species, bottom rigs, rods/reels, reading the water, pier casting and retrieving, types of bait, baiting the hook, pier gear and fileting and cooking your catch. Taught by Al Minter, well known local OBX surf angler. Meet at TW's Nags Head then we go to the pier as a group.Class price is $25/person, Kids 10-12 $15(plus discounted pier fee).

OBXTROUTFISHING
Al Minter fishes the beaches of the Outer Banks at least 250 days per year. If you ask him or anyone who is a regular on the beach they will tell you Al knows how to catch Speckled trout . He is often showing up at the end of a camera lense with stringers of citations. This half day seminar will cover Al's techniques for reading the beach, finding the sloughs, selecting artifical baits for the water color and clarity, rods, reels, line, using jigs, grubs,mirrolures and using the proper retrieves. Learn the art of catching Fall and Spring Speckled Trout in the ocean surf from a pro. $75. up to two weeks before seminar then $95.

OBXROCKFISHING 
For the second year, Captains Bryan DeHart and Jimmy Hillsman will be your guides for the day to learn about sound and ocean rockfish. Capt. DeHart will discuss chart overview of the sounds and their hottest fishing spots, migratory and resident Albemarle stocks, baits, rods, reels, tides/wind current, fishing the bridges,stumps and sloughs of the local Sounds and rivers. Capt. Jimmy will cover how to catch those 30-50# migratory "cows" outside the Oregon Inlet. He will cover topwater plugging, jigging, trolling daisy chains, mojos, umbrella rigs, parachutes and stretches."Eeling" the Inlet shoals and beach fishing with 'Hatteras Heavers' will be covered. All presentations are geared specifically to how the local experts catch Rockfish here in the Outer Banks. Extensive rods, reels and lures display. If you fish the OBX for Rockfish, this is a "must do" seminar! $125 up to 2 weeks from Seminar then $150

Offshore Gulfstream Sportfishing
 
Hardware and rigging- An experienced OBX offshore Mate discusses rods, reels, lines, leaders,hooks, crimping, hardware, pin rigs, tying sea witches, bars, daisy chains, skirt and leadhead color considerations, water color; selecting, brining and rigging ballyhoo, hook selection hand lining and gaffing. Seminar includes giving participants hands on crimping, ballyhoo rigging and sea witch tying segments.An experienced OBX Offshore Charter Captain  discusses advance planning, weather, Tuna/Dolphin/Wahoo/Billsfish, gulfstream eddies, currents, fingers, rips, color breaks, temperatures, "the point", fathom lines, understanding loran TD's, boat handling, Kite Fishing, trolling technique, depth finders "marks" and the importance of sea surface temperture satellite imaging. The focus of day one will be  fishing for Tuna, Wahoo and Dolphin.

ocal Kayak pro's, Guides and suppliers display and demonstrtate their products. Clinics on local hot spots, equipment, guides and strategies. If you'tre thinking of taking up this exciting sport, this is an OBX "Must Do" to get you started. Sunday we would like to host a tournament.


Ocean Saltwater Fly Fishing-
Fly rod gear for catching Bluefish, Triggerfish, Cobia, False Albacore, Spadefish, Amberjack, Spanish Mackeral,  and Rockfish  on the fly in the ocean.

The Kayak Mothership
This program involves taking up to six kayakers offshore for a day of going over the side and dolphin fishing grasslines or amberjack fishing on the Navy Towers.
