According to the laws of nature, the migration of large schools of Striped Bass (Rockfish) move southward in the fall from Cape Cod to whichever area provides them with water in the 50 degree + mark. Over the last two decades that area has been the Outer Banks around Oregon inlet plus or minus ten miles. For a few of those years the water was warm enough around the moutn of the Chesapeake Bay for them to remain there all winter and never come farther south to the OBX..so its all about the water temperature. Watch for water in the 40's at Virginia Beach and the Roclfish will head to the Outer Banks!.

OBFS Now Offering Kayak Fishing Trips
Capt. Mark Peters, Ric Burnley and OBFS Guides Capt. Jason Peters and Pete Erickson presentrd "Kayak Fishing-OBX Style" at Captain Marty's annual Fishing school. Kitty Hawk Sports, our Ocean Kayak Brand kayak supplier, was also there with displays of fishing kayaks. Capt. Jason Peters completed the four day ACA Kayak Instructor certification so he's stoked to teach and to take novice and experienced anglers on some great OBX
yak fishing trips. This year we're offering "Camp N' Fish" overnight trips, Tarpon and Drum trips and mothership boat assisted trips for advanced kayak anglers. Dont forget about our half day Trout/Drum/Flounder sound trips from April through October.
